being an elvis fan part 5

if your mad about elvis as i am. then as a fan why don.t we let others know just what the man was really like, elvis might be a singer but he done his part in other things like going in to the army like any other man, lets see what happen?...

just before christmas 1957, elvis received his draft notification and although he collected the notice himself to avoid publicity, the press soon got wind of it. he told reporters that he was happy the situation was finally resolved and that he was happy to return something to the country that had given him so much.
two weeks before elvis went into the us army he flew to california to record the soundtrack for another film KING CREOLE, then filming started. i seen this film and it really good, im not just saying that because im a elvis fan. see it yourself then let me know what you think,.... right lets get back to what we was talking about,
two weeks after shooting had finished, elvis was finally inducted into the us army. he arrived early at the draft board, he was assigned to the second armored division at fort hood in texas for basic training, although elvis was homesick. he kept his feelings to himself and buckled down to learning how to be a good soldier,
elvis done two years in the army. when he came out he went back to doing what he loved best, singing..... more about this later in part six, ........................

bring an elvis fan... part 4

as a fan. you need to know everything there is to know about the star. and that what i done with ELVIS. i look-up things about him. shooting was soon to begin on another film, JAIL HOUSE ROCK, in which elvis plays a bad boy who reforms in prison and goes on to become a famous singing star. it was one of his best movies, with specially commissioned songs by leiber & stoller who came out to hollywood to oversee the recording. unfortunately . one of the colonel.s stipulations in his management of ELVIS was to make sure that the writers of his songs handed over a percentage of their royalties. word of this soon got a round, seriously limiting the selection of songs elvis was offered in later years-to the point that it begain to damage his career. all the colonel wanted was money, he did.n really want elvis. all he was doing was useing him. and that went on for year. right up untill elvis die. watch elvis at his best in this film, JAIL HOUSE ROCK
